Clara Calvo-Sotelo; an award-winning Creative Director with Art Direction background.
Although originally from Spain, she built her career for over ten years in the US, namely New York and Miami. It was here where she founded her based branding/design studio, WHYTE CANVAS, which she combines with freelance projects for big agencies.
Before NYC she worked in different cities: Madrid, Paris, Vancouver, Beijing and Miami, which gave her an international multicultural bilingual background. She has experience navigating multicultural and inclusive initiatives. Her international heritage allows her to create bilingual work in the Hispanic market
For the past decade, she has immersed herself in every advertising medium and collaborated with dozens of brands from traditional campaigns, to social, editorial and experiential.
She worked for several years at Momentum WW in NYC; she was the first creative woman joining the Verizon team, in which she was responsible for advertising campaigns and activations around important events such as Super Bowl and NBA finals. She has worked for other large clients such as Amex, Coca-Cola and Nike.
Clara has also worked in countries around the world including a role in Mexico to lead the art and marketing department for a large restaurant group Grupo MYT. She was instrumental in its growth, building an in-house agency and a creative and production team for upcoming campaigns as well as launch events for their various entities.
During the pandemic, she returned to traditional advertising in big agencies around US. Since this inflection point, Clara has collaborated as an ACD for amazing agencies such: Strawberry Frog, Digitas North America, Zubi, Third Ear, Edelman, McAnn etc. Creating pieces for clients such Airbnd, Ford, Toyota, Dove, Delta, Sephora etc.
